V Rock Band
The Sound of the Sandhills V Rock Band is the primary pep band for the volleyball team. This untraditional band includes students who play guitar, bass, keyboards, and drum set. The students tend to be more diverse in their background ranging from worship band experience to learning on their own. Many do not have musical training (reading) and learn ‘by ear’, but they all excel in learning ‘riffs’ and ‘licks’ to classic, hard, metal, punk, and progressive rock. The group started in the late spring of 2023 and through the summer with the anticipation of performing in 2023-24, with long term plans of performing at national rock venues in years to come.
The V Rock band is under the co-leadership of Dr. Mike Phillips and Nate Campbell.
