Prep (George Washington): Was a three time Western Valley District regular season and two time tournament champion with the Eagles… Was selected to the all-state second team, all-region team and all-district team as both a pitcher and a designated hitter… Was named the Metro Pitcher of the Year and was selected to play in the Virginia High School League State All-Star Game… As a senior he went 9-0 on the mound with a 1.14 ERA while batting .375 with 30 RBIs … Went  19-1 for his career with a  school best career ERA of 1.64… Also holds the career record for pickoffs in a season with nine, including three in one game... was twice selected as the district player of the year while playing for the Eagles.
