Placed 53rd overall and fifth among Campbell runners in the men’s 6K with a 20:06.5 at the Elon Friday Night Lights Opener on Aug. 29.
Placed 47th overall and second among Campbell runners in the men’s 6K with a personal-best 19:22.2 at the Adidas XC Challenge on Sept. 20, a time that ranks 14th in program history.
Finished 24th overall and second among Campbell runners in the men’s 8K with a personal-best 25:24.84 at the Dill Family Foundation Invitational on Oct. 3, a time that ranks 17th in program history.
Finished 162nd overall in the men’s 8K with a 28:34.6 at the Upstate Invitational on Oct. 18.
Placed 72nd overall and third among Campbell runners in the men’s 8K with a 26:08.6 at the CAA Championships on Oct. 31.

2024 (SOPHOMORE @ UTRGV)

Placed 157th in the men’s 10K with a 33:56.5 at the NCAA Division I South Central Regional on Nov. 15.
Finished 44th in the men’s 8K with a 27:17.4 at the Southland Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1.
Placed 11th in the men’s 8K with a 26:18.3 at the West Side Classic on Oct. 12.
Finished 54th in the men’s 4-mile with a 21:32.3 at the UIW Invitational on Sept. 13.

2023 (FRESHMAN @ UTRGV)

Finished 150th in the men’s 10K with a 33:52.9 at the NCAA Division I South Central Regional on Nov. 10.
Finished 76th in the men’s 8K with a 27:34.6 at the WAC Championships on Oct. 27.
Placed 318th overall with a 26:58.8 in the men’s 8K at the Arturo Barrios Invite on Oct. 13.
Finished 64th in the men’s 8K with a 27:22.7 at the UIW Invitational/Southland Preview on Sept. 16.
Finished 74th with a 21:28.9 in the men’s 6K at the UIW Twilight on Sept. 1.

Before Campbell

Member of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) cross country and indoor/outdoor track & field programs from 2023–24.
Attended IES Nueve Valles in Puente San Miguel, Cantabria, Spain, competing in cross country and track & field under head coach Raul Gutierrez.
Holds school records in the 800 and 1500 meters.
Also competed in soccer.
State champion in 2022.
Son of Manuel and Maria Cantarero.
Has two siblings, Miguel and Marina
