Fred Lemongo

Fred Lemongo joined the Campbell staff as assistant men’s tennis coach in January 2020.  The native of Cameroon brings five years of Division I coaching experience to head coach David Johnson’s program.
 
 A former top-ranked junior in his native Cameroon and ITF West and Central African doubles champion, Lemongo joined the Fighting Camels after spending five seasons on the women’s tennis staff at Louisiana Monroe.
 
During his stay at ULM, Lemongo helped guide the Warhawks women to a Sun Belt Conference title in 2017 and three additional tournament semifinals appearances.
 
Lemongo was a four time regular season and tournament champion during his playing career at North Carolina Wesleyan College. He helped the Battling Bishops reach the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 three times as well as an Elite 8 appearance.
 
Individually, Lemongo was ranked as high as ninth in the Atlantic South region in doubles and 15th in singles.  He graduated from NC Wesleyan in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
 
In addition to his work on the collegiate level, Lemongo has served as assistant tennis professional at the Monroe Athletic Club as well as head pro at the Golfcrest Country Club.
