Michael Kelley joined Campbell as Assistance Director of Strength and Conditioning in July 2018.
With the Camels, Kelley directs and designs strength and conditioning programs for track and field, as well as softball and lacrosse student-athletes, and assist is all aspects of strength and conditioning for the Campbell football program. He is also the CU strength and conditioning staff’s intern coordinator.
Kelley joined the Camels from Liberty, where he was a graduate assistant from 2016-18, working with the Flames’ track and field, men’s soccer, golf and cheerleading student-athletes, also assisting the baseball program.
The Moon Township, Pa. native worked at Robert Morris as an assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2015-16, responsible for all aspects of programming for softball, women’s volleyball and freshman football, aiding efforts with football, men’s and women’s basketball, and track and field.
Kelley also served as an assistant player development coach at Focus Human Performance from December 2014 to May 2015, administering and helping with athlete assessments, creating athlete profiles, highlighting goals and strengths.
Kelley has also interned with the University of Kentucky (May-December 2014) and West Virginia University’s (August-December 2013) football strength and conditioning programs.
After serving as assistant sprinters coach in 2012-13 at Slippery Rock, Kelley also served as a strength and conditioning student coach prior to graduating in 2014, focusing on the development of an organized strength and conditioning program for the football team and implementing sessions for student-athletes.
In 2013, Kelley was also an assistant strength and conditioning coach at West Allegheny High School.
A former track and field athlete at Slippery Rock, Kelley earned his B.S. in exercise science in 2014, and is completing his Human Services Counseling: Executive Leadership (Masters of Art).
Kelley is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Strength and Conditioning Coach, Reflexive Performance Reset, as well as First Aid, CPR and AED certified.
