Kelli Florio, MA, LAT, ATC joined the Campbell University Sports Medicine Department in the summer of 2019. She works primarily with women’s basketball and men & women’s cross country programs.
She comes to CU from Marquette University where she worked with the men’s & women’s cross country and track & field programs from February 2018 to June 2019. Florio joined MU from UNLV, where she also served as an assistant athletic trainer from October 2016 to February 2018 with the women's track & field team.
The native of Wichita, Kansas earned her Bachelor's in athletic training from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas in 2012 and a Master's of health education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2014. While at UNO, Florio worked with the Creighton University women's soccer and softball programs.
Upon her departure from graduate school and prior to her role at UNLV in 2016, Florio worked in several professional settings, including clinical, high school, junior college and indoor professional football. She has also spent time volunteering at the College World Series in Omaha.
Florio is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association. She holds a certification from the Board of Certification of Athletic Trainers and licensure from the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners.
