2025: Named to the All-CAA Second Team ... Led the team with a .345 batting average ... Made 40 starts and 46 appearances ... Slashed .345/.439/.608, leading the team in slugging percentage ... Fifth in the conference with a 1.047 OPS ... Had 15 multi-hit games ... Tied for the team lead with 21 stolen bases, doing so in 23 attempts ... Hit a walk-off solo home run against Elon in the first round of the CAA Championships ... Hit lead-off home runs in back-to-back contests against Delaware ... Junior College: Played two seasons at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa under coach Todd Rima … Teammates with Zach Sabers … Was second team all-conference each season … Slashed .347/.430/.621 with 152 hits in 115 games across the two seasons … Hit 34 multi-base hits in the 2022-23 season to go with 40 walks and 22 stolen bases … Doubled his walks total from his freshman to sophomore season. 

Prep: Played for coach Kevin Cunningham at Clinton River HS … Was named 4A all-state first team in 2019 and 2020 … Also played golf, basketball and track & field … Placed third in the shotput at state in 2021 … Was an all-conference golfer in 2019.  

Personal: Full name is Joseph Henry Simpson … Born December 18, 2002, in Clinton, Iowa … Son of Rod and Ronda Simpson … Has two older brothers, Jacob and Jared … Brother, Jared, played baseball at the University of Iowa and is now in the Washington Nationals organization.  

Major: Sport Management
