Alejandro Robles Ruiz joined Campbell as a graduate assistant coach prior to the 2024-25 season.
A native of Granada, Spain, Robles Ruiz comes to Campbell after serving as an athletic facility supervisor at his alma mater, Saginaw Valley State University during the 2023-24 season, where he completed a decorated collegiate career as a member of the men’s swimming and diving team.
During his career at Saginaw Valley State, Robles Ruiz collected NCAA Division II All-American honors in the 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle over three seasons. He was also a three-time team MVP, earning SVSU Male Athlete of the Year accolades in 2022-23.
Before heading SVSU, Robles Ruiz was an NJCAA National Champion and All-American in the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke in 2021 at Southwestern Oregon Community College, also notching All-American honors as the NJCAA runner-up in the 200 backstroke in 2020. Robles Ruiz also earned multiple NJCAA and CSCAA Academic All-American honors.
Additionally, Robles Ruiz served as a swimming assistant coach for the Flint YMCA Falcons prior to his move to CU.
He graduated magna cum laude from SVSU in 2024 through its business administration program, with majors in international business, marketing, and supply chain management as a president’s and dean’s list student. He completed his associate’s degree in general studies at SOCC in 2021, and is currently pursuing his MBA at Campbell.
