Greg Kuras joined the Campbell University Athletics program in August 2023 as Assistant Director for Student Athlete Support where he works with the men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling programs.
Prior to joining Campbell, Kuras was the Sports Director at the A.E. Finley YMCA in Raleigh, NC and served as an Assistant Coach with the Cary Academy basketball team from 2021-2023.
From 2018 to 2021, Kuras served as a Student-Athlete Advisor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, working primarily with women’s basketball, volleyball, and men’s and women’s soccer. During his time there, he established the Vaquero Mental Performance and Development Group, teaching student athletes to develop and train sport psychology and mental skills to be utilized in sports and in life.
In 2017 to 2018, Kuras worked as an Academic Coordinator at Elon University, advising freshman and transfer student athletes in the football program.
While earning his master’s degree at Springfield College from 2015-2017, Kuras worked closely with the women’s basketball, wrestling, gymnastics and football teams as an athletic counselor, where he provided individual counseling and team workshops for sport psychology and mental skills. Additionally, he served as a graduate assistant for the athletics office at Springfield. During that time, he was also a member of the 2017 DIII Men’s Volleyball National Championship Host committee.
Originally from Davidson, NC, Kuras earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Furman University (2014) and a master’s degree in Athletic Counseling from Springfield College (2017).
He is an active member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A). He is a 2021 graduate of the N4A Steve McDonnell Professional Development Institute (PDI) – New Practitioner track.
Kuras and his wife, Whitney, reside in Raleigh.
