"Since her arrival on campus, Melissa has been a great addition to our department," said Bazemore. "She brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership to Campbell, and I am excited for her to expand her role as an advocate for our female student-athletes and programs."
"I want to thank Hannah Bazemore for this opportunity," said Wendt. "Athletics have made such a positive impact on my life, and I am grateful for the chance to further serve our student-athletes, coaches and staff as SWA."
In her new role, Wendt will continue to oversee all day-to-day operations of the compliance office and serve as compliance liaison to all 21 varsity teams, in addition to serving as Campbell's Deputy Title IX Coordinator while providing oversight for sports performance and sports medicine. She also serves as program administrator for Campbell's women's basketball, women's soccer, track & field and cross country programs.
A former collegiate athlete and coach, Wendt first moved into the compliance field in 2015 as an intern at Wichita State, where she had also served as assistant track & field coach.

Wendt moved to Wisconsin in July 2019 and served as compliance liaison for the Badger volleyball, softball, men's and women's soccer and men's and women's tennis teams. In addition to assisting with the daily operations of the Wisconsin compliance office, she monitored recruiting for all UW sports and serves as liaison to the ticket office, camp administration and university travel agency.
A collegiate pentathlete indoors and heptathlete outdoors, Wendt competed as an undergraduate at Northern Michigan University where she was an NCAA Division II national provisional qualifier. She still holds top 10 school records in nine different events.
