Rob Gritzer joined the track & field and cross country staff in August 2025 and will serve as assistant coach.

Gritzer brings a wealth of experience from various levels of collegiate and high school coaching, and his experience as an entrepreneur, having founded New Level Sprinting.
Gritzer’s recent success at Longwood University saw him play a pivotal role in the Lancers’ cross country and outdoor track teams achieving their best season in team history in 2023-2024. His expertise was instrumental in the women's cross country team securing a fifth place finish at the conference tournament, marking their second-straight year of record breaking performance.
Prior to Longwood, Gritzer served as volunteer coach at North Dakota State, where he helped the team win the Summit League Outdoor Championship on both the men’s and women’s sides. His diverse coaching background includes positions at Eugene Ashley High School and IMG Academy, where he coached Davonte Howell, a 2024 Paris Olympics competitor.
Gritzer Holds a BA in Psychology from Eastern University and a Master’s in Sports Psychology from Cardiff Metropolitan University. He is also a USATF Level 2 certified coach in Sprints, Hurdles, Relays, and holds a USTFCCCA Strength & Conditioning Advanced Endorsement.
