Campbell vs. Drake:
Post Game Quotes
Campbell head coach Dale Steele:
"Obviously it was a disappointing evening for us, it was not the outcome that we had hoped for. First off I want to say that I am extremely proud of the young men back there in that locker room. From the sideline, it appeared to me that they continued to fight throughout the entire football game and never gave up. They never laid down and they never took a play off in spite of the situations we found ourselves in. I'm really proud of our kids defensively and the effort they gave tonight. I thought that they, against a good football team, went out and held their own for a lot of plays in a row. Offensively, we continue to search for ways to move the football. This is the fifth combination of offensive lineman we have started during the course of the year. What happens to us offensively is that we can play for a stretch, but we cant play for a long stretch. We can pick up two or three first downs and run eight or nine plays. But when it comes to 13 or 14 play drives we struggle to execute. I was extremely disappointed in some areas, like the kicking game. I was disappointed in the penalties and our turnovers are not acceptable. We're going to work hard to correct those things, and I was proud of the effort they gave tonight."
Senior defensive back Brandon Chandler
On making big defensive stops in the game:
"It gives us motivation about what we need to do. You know we can do it all the time. We just have to keep going out there and playing every game."
On his fumble recovery and interception:
"I was trying to be around the ball at all times. You never know what's going to happen. I ran for the ball. It was there and I just picked it up."
Redshirt freshman wide receiver AJ Artis:
On transition at quarterback:
"(Dakota Wolf) and Braden (Smith) are both hard workers. Both of them bring the same attitude each and every game."
On preparation in the bye week:
"Practice and we'll get better."
