Southern Defeats Camels 4-2
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Charleston Southern won a 9-8 decision at
number-two doubles, then claimed three singles victories in a 4-2
victory over visiting Campbell Friday.
Campbell's Jiri Beranek and Florent Wilpotte won at the top doubles
slot, but CSU's Jonathan and Steve Dean earned a 9-8 victory at
number two over Carlos Campo and Marc Sifre for the decisive
point.
Beranek remained unbeaten in singles play this spring (8-0) with a
straight sets victory at number one. Wilpotte improved to 8-3 after
earning a 7-6, 7-6 win over Jonathan Dean at number-two. The tandem
also moved to 6-1 at number-one doubles this season.
Campbell takes on Jacksonville Saturday in Savannah, Ga.
