Minter Announces First Recruiting Class

@CampbellFB

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – First year Campbell head football coach Mike Minter announced the Camels' 2013 recruiting class Thursday morning.

"There are a lot of great football players in this group," said Minter. "I'm really excited because we got the number one guy that we wanted at every position we targeted. I'm just ecstatic that we were able to get the caliber of guys that we got in here for our first recruiting class."

The 16-member group features nine from North Carolina, three from South Carolina, three from Virginia and one from Tennessee. Five offensive linemen, four defensive backs, two quarterbacks, a kicker, a linebacker, a running back and a tight end round out the class.

"It's a lot of pressure that's gone now that our first class is done and ready to come to Buies Creek," said Minter. "I really just tip my hat to my coaches. They did a great job, coming in here in December and hitting the recruiting trail hard for the last two months. The coaches deserve all the credit for what they did with this recruiting class."

Three members of the class are already enrolled and taking classes at Campbell.

This is the seventh signing class for Campbell's football program, who heads into its sixth season of competition in the Division I era in 2012.

Below is a full list of the 2013 Campbell signees (click for video highlights), followed by biographical capsules for each newcomer in alphabetical order.

The Camels will kick off the 2013 season on Aug. 31 at UNC Charlotte.
