BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Patrick Marshall drove in three and Radford dealt Campbell a 6-2 loss Sunday at Jim Perry Stadium.
Radford (15-11, 5-1 Big South) handed Campbell (20-8, 4-5) its first three game sweep since May 2011 (at East Tennessee State). The Camels have played 40 three game series since suffering their last sweep. CU has swept 19 times since, winning 29 series.
Marshall knocked in runs in the first, fourth and eighth, going 1-for-3 in the win with a sacrifice fly. Shane Johnsonbaugh, Hunter Higgerson and Aaron Scoville all picked up two hits each, with Josh Reavis scoring three times.
Matt Parrish was 3-for-3 for Campbell, picking up his second three-hit day in five games. Cole Hallum went 2-for-4 with two RBI, hitting his ninth home run of the season.
Mitchell MacKeith (3-2) earned the win, going 6 2/3 with two runs on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk. Daniel Bridgeman worked 1 1/3, giving up two hits, while Ryan Meisinger surrendered a hit in a scoreless ninth inning.
Campbell starter Grant Yost (3-3) took the loss, allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks in seven innings. Andrew Witczak worked an inning with a hit, while Hallum pitched the ninth, allowing a run on two hits.
Radford led 4-0 after a Brad Keen sacrifice fly and a Campbell error gave the Highlanders a two-run seventh.
Hallum's two-run home run in the bottom of the inning gave Campbell life, slicing the RU lead to 4-2 before the Highlanders tacked on runs in the eighth and ninth for a 6-2 road win.
Campbell travels to nearby Duke on Tuesday, March 31, before returning to Big South play at Presbyterian April 2-4. CU returns home on Tuesday, April 7 against East Carolina.
