Murray signs with Minnesota Twins organization

Murray named All-CAA Honorable Mention last season

BUIES CREEK – Campbell left-handed pitcher Jake Murray has signed a professional contract with the Minnesota Twins organization. 

The left-hander was named All-CAA Honorable Mention and tabbed CAA Pitcher of the Week twice in his final season with the Camels. He led the squad with 15 starts and fanned a team-high 82, which tied for third in the CAA. 

Murray held a 4-2 record with a 4.68 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in his final campaign. He tossed 59.2 innings allowing 31 earned runs and held opponents to a .220 average. Murray struck out a career high 14 and did not allow a hit in 6.0 innings against Texas State this season. At the end of the regular season, he was 12th in the NCAA in strikeouts per nine innings at 12.64. 

Murray finished his Campbell career with a 4.60 ERA in 38 appearances, making 19 starts. He pitched a total of 101.2 innings holding opponents to a .212 batting average.
