BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Charleston Southern took both games of Saturday's doubleheader at Campbell, 9-5 and 3-2, at Jim Perry Stadium.

Jack Crittenberger's pinch hit, two-out, two-run go-ahead home run in the top of the ninth lifted CSU (19-18, 9-6 Big South) past Campbell (25-15, 8-10 Big South) in game two of Saturday's twinbill.

The Camels led 2-1 after Kyle Prats scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth on a Denis Buckley wild pitch. Prats' score broke a 1-1 deadlock that stood since the first inning.

Buckley (2-1) picked up the win for CSU, going two innings with two hits, three strikeouts and two walks. Buccaneer starter Kyle McDorman went 6 1/3, allowing a run on five hits with two strikeouts and a walk. Chayce Hubbard also allowed a run in 2/3.

Cole Hallum (0-1) took the loss for Campbell, allowing two unearned runs on two hits in 1 2/3. Nick Thayer surrendered an unearned run on seven hits with two strikeouts and a walk in 7 1/3. The junior retired 10 in a row from the end of the fourth through the seventh.

In game one of the day, CU was plagued by two miscues that led to seven unearned runs in the top of the third, putting the Camels in a 7-2 hole after scoring two in the bottom of the first.

Brian Dye's two-run double in the fourth gave CSU a 9-2 lead.

Campbell rallied with three runs in the seventh, sending eight to the plate. Seth LaRue, Matt Parrish and Austin Beard all drove in runs in the inning, cutting the Buccaneer lead to 9-5.

Camels reached in the eighth and ninth, but they were left stranded.

Evan Raynor (4-3) picked up the win, working 6 2/3 with five runs, all earned, on 11 hits with two strikeouts. Jon Piriz pitched 2 1/3, allowing two hits with a strikeout.

Bobby Thorson (3-2) was charged with the loss for Campbell, pitching 1 1/3 with six runs, all unearned, on five hits with a walk. Grant Yost pitched six innings in relief, allowing a run on six hits with four strikeouts. CU starter Andrew Witczak pitched 1 1/3 with a hit and a strikeout.

Nate Blanchard was 3-for-5 for the Bucs with three RBI and a run in game one.

Kyle Prats went 4-for-4 for Campbell, all on infield singles, scoring twice. Parrish also knocked in two runs for the Camels.

The Bucs opened the series with a 5-3 win. The Camels allowed 14 unearned runs for the weekend, committing 10 errors in three games.
