WASHINGTON, D.C. - Campbell wrestling split its pair of matches Sunday, taking a 28-12 victory against Clarion, and dropping a 23-13 result to American.
Austin Kraisser, Quentin Perez, and Jere Heino all picked up wins in both of their matches during the day. Kraisser collected a pinfall against Jack Peura (Clarion) and a 5-3 decision over Cole Moseley (American).
Perez earned a 12-4 major decision over Michael Eckhart (American) and a 7-3 decision against Evan Delong (Clarion). Heino improved to 5-0 on the year with his 9-6 decision over Evan Daley (Clarion) and a 9-7 decision against Brett Dempsey (American).
At 125-pounds, Nathan Kraisser split his two matches of the afternoon. He picked up a fall victory against Brendan Hower (Clarion) and fell to Josh Terao (American) by major decision, 17-9.
Jonathan Ryan split his matches during the day, as he took a 9-0 major decision over Roshaun Cooley (Clarion) but fell to Esteban Gomez-Rivera (American) by a 9-3 decision. Alex Herringshaw earned a 5-4 decision against Joe Salvi (American) but dropped his matchup against Clarion.
Ville Heino also went 1-1 on the day, with a 4-2 decision over Scott Marmoll (Clarion) and fell to Jason Grimes (American).
Campbell improves to 3-2 on the year and will continue action Nov. 19 at the Navy Classic in Annapolis, Md.
