BUIES CREEK, N.C. --- Three Camels finished with double-figure kills and five registered double-figure digs in Campbell's 3-1 win (24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22) over Presbyterian Saturday at Gore Arena.
Allena Heath led all players with 24 kills for the Camels (14-8, 4-4 BSC), who won their fourth-straight match.
Jessica Stocking put down 17 kills and tallied 20 digs for a double-double.
Madison Linxwiler finished with 12 kills and two blocks, while
Summer Schuitema had a team-high 23 digs and a match-high 49 assists.
Madee Miner tallied a career-high 16 digs and
Kayla Schanback matched her tally. Heath made it three players with double-doubles after compiling 11 digs.
In the fourth set, Schuitema tied the game at 9-9 before the Camels held a 12-11 lead and called a timeout. Later in the frame, a 3-1 run for Campbell, capped by a PC attack error, made it a 21-18 lead.
A kill from Heath put CU ahead 23-20 and the Blue Hose (5-16, 2-6) called a timeout. Allie Wright put down a kill out of the break, but Linxwiler gave the Camels match point with a kill in the ensuing rally. Erin Eulitz kept the match alive with a kill, but the final kill came from Stocking as the Camels completed the 3-1 victory.
Three Blue Hose finished in double-figure kills led by Wright with 13. Eulitz and Caroline Henderson finished with 12 and 11 kills respectively, while Eulitz had a double-double with a match-high 28 digs. Jaclyn Brewington dished out 24 assists.
The Camels raced out to a 6-1 lead in the first set. However, it was tied at 24-24 late in the frame after a kill from Heath. Henderson followed with back-to-back kills to close out the set win for PC.
A kill from Stocking tied the second set at 10-10. With the set tied at 15-15, the Camels scored three-straight points to take an 18-15 advantage. CU led 22-18, but the Blue Hose used their own 3-0 run to cut the deficit to 22-21.
Hannah Schneggenburger responded with a kill out of a Camel TO, and Miner followed it with a service ace to give Campbell set point. An attack error by Henderson gave the game to the Camels in the following rally.
The Blue Hose held a 19-16 lead late in the third set. The Camels fought back and scored four of the next five points to tie the frame at 20-20.
A kill from Heath and a Schuitema ace put CU ahead 23-21 and forced a PC timeout. Schuitema dropped in another ace after the break, and Linxwiler closed out the game with a final kill.
The Camels will open a four-match road trip on Friday at Gardner-Webb before facing Presbyterian again next Saturday. First serve Friday vs. the Runnin' Bulldogs is set for 7 p.m.
