PRINCESS ANNE, Md. --- Campbell's volleyball team opened play in Maryland Eastern Shore's Henson's Hawk Invitational with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-16) victory over Coppin State Friday afternoon.
Allena Heath led all players with 19 kills for the Camels (8-4).

Heath put down the eighth-most kills for a three-set match in program history.
Summer Schuitema dished out 25 assists and added seven digs while
Kayla Schanback tallied a match-high 11 digs.

It was an 8-0 Camel lead in the opening set before the Eagles (0-12) put their first points on the board. However, a 4-1 Eagle run later in the set gave CSU an 18-17 lead.

It would be Coppin State's only lead of the match though as the Camels called a TO and reeled off an 8-1 run to end the set and take the opening game.

Campbell raced out to a 12-2 lead in the second set before CSU called for a break. It was a 17-8 Camel advantage before CU scored five-straight points en route to the 15-point second set victory. The Camels hit a sizzling .476 in the set with 12 kills in 21 attacks.

Three-straight points for Campbell turned a narrow three-point lead to a 13-7 advantage midway through the third set. The Eagles would only be able to get back within five of the lead the rest of the way as the Camels led by as much as 22-13 before Heath ended the match with her final kill of the night.

Hannah Schneggenburger added five kills and three blocks for Campbell while
Madison Linxwiler put down six kills and added four digs with two blocks.
Danielle Bierman tallied seven digs while
Grayson Hall registered a kill off the bench.

Asia Stennis led Coppin State with seven kills and Viliyah Barnes put down five. Glorines Rosado tallied a team-high nine digs and Angel Jamerson dished out 15 assists.

The Camels will continue play in the Henson's Hawk Invitational Saturday against Delaware State at 2 p.m. and UMES at 6 p.m. It will be CU's final two non-conference matches of the season.Â
