Haley Thoma, a senior forward from Hopewell Junction, N.Y., transferred to Campbell in the Spring of 2015 after one season with the UNC Charlotte women's soccer program. Thoma has excelled academically during her time in Buies Creek, and has earned Big South Presidential Honor Roll accolades twice (2015, 2016). Thoma has appeared in 14 games as a Fighting Camel, scoring two goals off of six total shots.
Why did you decide to play soccer: I honestly was really too young to remember, but I know my parents gave me a choice between a few sports and I chose soccer
Who was your biggest influence growing up: My parents. They were always there and supporting me and encouraging me to do my best no matter what

Favorite professional club team: Although it might not be considered a club team … I have to say the U.S. Women's National Team
What is your favorite memory as a spectator at a soccer game: I went to the Germany vs. USA semifinal women's World Cup game in Canada last summer
What is your favorite memory during your playing career: Scoring the game-winning goal on senior night in high school or winning State Cup
What professional player would you want to play with: Abby Wambach because she holds such a presence on the field and is a great leader
Which professional athlete would you like to meet: Michael Phelps because of his success in the Olympics
What do you like to do in your free time: I like to paint
What is something that your teammates may not know about you: I was born in Georgia and lived in South Carolina and Connecticut before moving to New York
