BUIES CREEK — Campbell women's soccer played to 1-1 draw against UNCW on Sunday at Eakes Athletics Complex.
Campbell wraps up its season with a 4-7-5 record overall and a 2-4-3 record in CAA play. UNCW clinched the top seed in the South Division and will host the semifinal matchup on Nov. 2.
UNCW got out to an early lead in the 3rd minute of the match off the header by Kayla Adams. Hailey Longwell found Adams at the post who the squeezed the ball into the back of the net.
The Camel defense and
JLo Varada fended off seven shots in the first half as the Camel goalkeeper tallied four saves. Varada would add four more in the second half to keep the Seahawks off the board.
Olivia Vandre would find the equalizer in the 69th minute of the match for her first collegiate goal.
Kate Latini found Vandre who passed it out to Kanaar who found Vandre again for the score from the middle of the box.
Kanaar ends her season on a four game point streak dating back to the match at College of Charleston. She finished with three goals and an assist in the final four games.
The Camels were outshot in the contest 15-12 but took three more corners than the Seahawks, 8-5. The squad also registered a season high 15 fouls.
Vandre and
Grace Bannon led the Camels with a pair of shots.
