CLINTON, S.C. – A pair of 20-point scorers led Presbyterian to a 65-59 victory over Campbell on Saturday afternoon inside the Templeton Center.
Kacie Hall led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting (60 percent) with Cortney Storey adding 20 of her own on 8-of-18 shooting (44.4 percent) from the floor.
Summer Price's 19 points paced Campbell's offense on Saturday afternoon. She was 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) from the floor, including 4-of-7 (57.1 percent) from long range.
Caroline Bowns scored a season-high of 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting (54.5 percent), including 4-of-9 (44.4 percent) from downtown.
Campbell (9-6, 2-2) led by six, 49 seconds into the fourth quarter, but Presbyterian (4-11, 1-3) used a 10-2 spree over a span of 2:19 to reclaim the lead for good.
Price cut the deficit to one-point twice late in the contest, including a 3-pointer with 3:20 left, but Presbyterian's Janie Miles responded with a 3-pointer of her own to extend the lead to two possessions.
CU trimmed the deficit to two with 1:00 to play, but the home side tallied a pair of late layups to hold on for the six-point win.
Campbell shot a season-best 76.5 percent (13-of-17) in the first half, including 77.8 percent (7-of-9) from downtown to claim a nine-point lead, 35-26, at halftime. Price led the way with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
Trailing by three, 15-12, Campbell used a 15-3 run over a 7:07 span to take a 27-18 lead midway through the second quarter. The two sides split the next 16 points, as CU led by nine at the half.
CU dominated the glass in the first half, outrebounding PC, 21-7, including 20 defensive rebounds. Campbell's first half defense limited Presbyterian to just 30.3 percent (10-of-33) from the floor.
Presbyterian turned 24 Campbell turnovers into 23 points, while CU scored just eight points off of 10 PC turnovers. The Blue Hose held a slight edge in the paint, 28-22.
The Camels shot 56.1 percent (23-of-41) from the floor, including 50 percent (10-of-20) from downtown. CU also held the advantage on the glass, 31-23, tallying 26 defensive boards.
Presbyterian shot 62.5 percent (15-of-24) in the second half, while Campbell was 41.6 percent (10-of-24). CU, which shot nearly 78 percent from 3-point land in the first half, was held to just 27.2 percent (3-of-11) in the second period.
Campbell returns home on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. tip-off against High Point.
