Campbell heads to CSU Wednesday

BUIES CREEK, N.C. ­- Campbell takes a three-match unbeaten streak to Charleston Southern Wednesday afternoon. The 4:00 p.m. start time can be watched live on ESPN+. Follow along live through live stats and always follow the Camels on twitter.
 
Campbell (3-7-1, 2-1-1 Big South) and Charleston Southern (5-2-2, 2-1-1 Big South) enter Wednesday's contest tied for third place just behind Winthrop and Radford who sit at 3-1-0 in conference play.
 
Most recently, Campbell topped league leading Winthrop 2-1 in Buies Creek. Freshman Jessica Donald led the Camels attack after scoring one goal and dishing out an assist to Alexa Genas who netted the game winner.
 
Donald opened the scoring slate for the Camels in the 57th minute after Shannon Wratchford played a corner kick into the box that was headed around to multiple Campbell attackers before Anna Brantley played a rebound up to Donald who headed the ball in for the score. Donald later took the ball from midfield down to the end line before finding Alexa Genas in the box where she finished from 15 yards out on the right side into the far-left side of the net.



 
The Buccaneers are coming off a 1-0 win over UNC Asheville on Saturday. Sidney Doherty netted her first goal of the season off a through ball from Emily Kifer. Doherty to the pass and fired the goal to the top of the net.
 
Campbell began its three-match unbeaten streak on September 22 with a 2-0 win against Asheville.
 
Over the three-match streak, Erin Scott has allowed just one goal over 294 minutes of action. The senior from Dallas, TX was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week after recording 11 saves over two matches including a shutout in a 0-0 draw against High Point on Wednesday, September 26. Scott's 57 saves leads the Big South conference.
 
Charleston Southern's 11 goals on the year have been spread out over nine different goal scorers. Kayla Robinson and Riley Rumbley lead the charge with two each. Between the pipes, Jazmin Gonzalez has hauled in 51 saves and posted a 1.08 goals against average as a part of a team 1.11 GAA that leads the Big South Conference.
 
After Wednesday's action, Campbell takes a seven-day break from competition before the Camels host Longwood on Wednesday, October 10.
