BUIES CREEK, N.C. — Campbell University swimming earned its third victory of the 2018-19 season, moving to 3-2 overall, with a 152-110 decision over Georgia Southern on Saturday inside the Johnson Aquatic Center.
Annie Sanchez earned her fourth 200 free victory of the season, posting a personal best time of 1:52.89. The freshman also won the 100 free, clocking in at 52.04 seconds for another personal record.
In the breaststroke events, Taylor McMinn took first place in the 100 breast (1:07.26) before placing second in the 200 breast (2:26.23).
Both Madison Scott and Maddie Baiotto posted season best times in the 200 fly, going one-two in the standings. Scott clocked in at 2:07.20, while Baiotto finished right behind her in 2:07.45.
Hannah Kendall swam the 50 free in 24.48 seconds to finish runner-up, coming in just 0.17 seconds behind Georgia Southern's Melissa Cox.
With a swim of 2:08.03, Kelsey Tunstall posted the sixth Camels individual win of the day in the 200 backstroke.
The Camels opened the meet by going one-two in the 400-medley relay. The team of Megan Everritt, McMinn, Baiotto and Sarah Wilson collectively swam a time of 3:55.37 to finish first, while Julia Sherlock, Skyler DeWall, Scott and Neringa Cerniauskaite took second place in 3:58.57.
Campbell closed out the day with a victory in the 200-free relay. Cerniauskaite, Sanchez, Kendall and Wilson collectively finished in 1:36.50, a season best for CU.
The Camels will continue to compete at home with a tri-meet on Saturday, Nov. 3, featuring East Carolina and Lenoir-Ryne. The action will begin at 1 p.m.
