BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Jordan Wood scored six goals and Rose Woolson gathered 12 saves to lead visiting Davidson past Campbell 13-6 Saturday at Barker-Lane Stadium.
Davidson moves to 4-3 with the win, while Campbell dips to 3-6 on the season.
Wood found the back of the net three times in the opening half, and Shayne Antolini chipped in two more first period goals, giving the Wildcats an 8-2 lead at the break.
With the Wildcats leading 13-3 after Wood's sixth score of the afternoon, Campbell tallied the game's final three goals, including two from
Melissa Placek.
Antolini added an assist for Davidson, while Olivia Carey and Christine Molinari both posted a goal and two assists each.
Claudia Becker and Natalie Junior posted four ground balls, with Becker forcing three of Campbell's 21 turnovers. Woolson added three ground balls in the win, gathering eight of her 12 saves in the first half.
Placek registered her fifth hat trick of the season for the Camels, collecting three goals with an assist.
Kayla Reilly also collected two goals and an assist, with
Annie Pazulski adding a goal and an assist.
Rose Prizzi picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Sydney Etheridge recorded six saves with three ground balls and a caused turnover.
Campbell rounds out its three game home stand hosting Furman on Friday, March 23. The Camels open Big South play on March 31 at Gardner-Webb.
