Camels travel to Butler, Cincinnati

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell heads on the road this week, traveling to Butler and Cincinnati.

The Camels (1-4) take on Butler (0-4) Tuesday before traveling to Cincinnati (5-1) Thursday. Both matches are set for 3 p.m. starts.

Last time out, Campbell dropped its first home decision of the season, with its second half comeback attempt falling short against Coastal Carolina. Campbell netted seven of the game's final nine goals, including five from junior Morgan Hollenbeck, but fell 14-9.

Senior Kayla Reilly tops the Camels with 16 points on the season, posting six goals and 10 assists. Melissa Placek has notched a team-high 12 goals, adding an assist, while Mackenzie Koeller adds 10 goals and a helper.

On the defensive end, Megan Reilly owns 16 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, while Amanda Chasin, who registered six ground balls and caused four turnovers against the Chanticleers, has collected eight ground balls and five caused turnovers on the year.

Butler is winless on the year heading into Tuesday's showdown with the Camels at Varsity Field, with opponents outscoring the Bulldogs 67-21. Butler is coming off a 16-6 loss to Detroit Mercy. Haley Hollenbeck leads Butler with nine points, including seven goals, while Mary Davide owns 10 ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Cincinnati has won five straight after taking a 15-9 setback against Louisville in its season opener. The Bearcats defeated Detroit Mercy 12-10 on Monday. Monica Borzillo has registered 37 points with 23 goals and 14 assists, while McKenna Rushford owns 17 goals with nine assists.

The Camels will be meeting the Bulldogs for the first time, while taking on Cincinnati for the second straight season. The Bearcats edged CU 17-16 in Buies Creek last season.
