BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- The Fighting Camels will wrap up a 10-game road stretch Wednesday night, May 2 against No. 5 NC State. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. at Doak Field at Dail Park in Raleigh, N.C.

Campbell (23-18) enters the contest winning seven of its last nine games, including back-to-back conference sweeps over Presbyterian and Longwood. CU most recently dropped a midweek matchup at UNCW, 14-4.
Redshirt sophomore
Matthew Barefoot leads the Camels in nine offensive categories, including batting average (.327), on-base percentage (.460), runs scored (33), hits (48), doubles (11), triples (3), walks (22), HBP (16) and stolen bases (22). His 16 HBP rank 15th in all of NCAA Division I, while the 22 steals sit 19th in the country.
For the season, senior infielder
Christian Jones ranks second in the Big South with 12 homers and 43 RBI. Those marks sit 25th and 65th in the nation, respectively.
Campbell's pitching staff tops the Big South in ERA (4.50) and opposing batting average (.244) while ranking second in the league in strikeouts (382). The team's 9.34 K's per nine innings are 32nd throughout all of NCAA Division I.
With a 15-3 record in conference play, the Camels have already clinched a spot in the 2018 Big South Tournament. CU has swept four BSC opponents this season, just the fourth time that feat has been accomplished in program history and the first time since 2014.
The Wolfpack - ranked No. 5 in the country by Perfect Game - owns a perfect 9-0 record in midweek games this season. NC State (31-11) is 2-0 against the Camels in 2018 with a 21-4 win in Raleigh on March 3 and a 4-1 victory in Buies Creek on March 7.
NCSU's slash line leads the ACC as the Wolfpack boasts the conference's top batting average (.297), on-base percentage (.395) and slugging percentage (.480) as a team. Outfielder Brett Kinneman ranks inside the top-40 in the nation with 13 home runs and 46 RBI this year.
Following the matchup, Campbell will return home for a pivotal conference series with the High Point Panthers. The three-game set is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, May 4-6 at Jim Perry Stadium.
