BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell opens up a three-game road stretch Friday night as the Camels travel to Western Carolina for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
Friday night will mark the seventh time in program history Campbell (1-2) and Western Carolina (2-1-1) have met. WCU holds the all-time series record (2-4) including a win last year over the Camels in Buies Creek.
Alexa Genas netted a hat trick but the Catamounts scored twice in the final six minutes to edge the Camels for the 4-3 win.
In the two-team's prior meeting in 2015, The Camels took a 2-0 win in Cullowhee behind two goals from Ashley Clark while current head coach
Samar Azem was an assistant on staff for Campbell.
Campbell is coming off a 1-0 loss to Liberty on Sunday where
Erin Scott held the Flames scoreless for 75 minutes of action before Liberty finally willed out a goal. Scott finished seven saves over 9- minutes of action and pushed her save total to 13 on the season.
Western picked up its second win of the season on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Belmont at home. Cani Couch fired from 20 yards out at the top of the box for her first goal of the season.
Couch's goal was a part of only three on the season for the Catamounts with only two other goal scorers with one score each on the year.
