BUIES CREEK, N.C. — Campbell University volleyball will play its first home match of the season on Thursday, Sept. 6, as the Utah Valley Wolverines come to Buies Creek for a 7 p.m. first serve. The match will be Campbell volleyball's debut on ESPN+.
The first 100 students at the match will receive either a free drumstick or ice cream sandwich. The volleyball team will also be signing autographs following the match.

In Campbell's most recent match on Sept. 4, the Camels were defeated by UNCW in three sets.
Sarah Colla and Jessica Stocking lead the Camels on offense with 83 kills and 70 kills, respectively. Colla is averaging 3.32 kills per set, which ranks third in the Big South, and Stocking's 2.80 kills-per-set average ranks sixth.
Madee Miner paces the CU offense with her team-high 133 assists (5.32 A/S). She recorded her first career double-double vs. William & Mary, pairing 19 assists with 10 digs. She followed that performance with another double-double vs. UNCW (20 assists, 12 digs).
Alysha Mitchell leads the Camels at the net with 26 blocks this season with an average of 1.22 per set, which ranks second in the Big South. Grace Kane had a strong showing in the Hokie Invitational, recording 46 digs (4.18 D/S) across three matches, which earned her all-tournament honors.
Both Allena Heath and Stocking were named to the 2018 Preseason All-Big South Team. Heath finished as the league's top attacker last season, leading the Big South with 451 kills. CU was also picked to finish third in the league's preseason poll, earning its highest preseason nod since rejoining the Big South in 2011.
PREVIEWING UTAH VALLEY
Utah Valley enters Thursday's match at 5-3 and are riding a three-match winning streak. Kazna Tarawhiti leads the Wolverine offense with 109 kills, averaging 4.19 per set. Madi Wardle and Jaysa Funk Stratton have already surpassed 100 assists this season for UVU as Wardle leads with 142 (5.92 A/S). Three of Utah Valley's five wins have come by way of three-set sweeps (Holy Cross, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Utah State).
NEXT UP
Following Thursday's match, Campbell will welcome NC Central, Wright State and Appalachian State to Gore Arena on Saturday, Sept. 8. NC Central and Wright State face off at 11 a.m. before Wright State and Appalachian State play at 2 p.m. CU and Appalachian State close out Saturday's action with a 6 p.m. match.
On Sunday, Sept. 9, the Camels will head to Raleigh to face ACC-foe North Carolina State at 2 p.m.
