NORFOLK, Va. — In a quad-meet hosted by Old Dominion, Campbell University swimming picked up three wins, defeating ODU (148-144), Howard (214-55) and VMI (212-46).
The Camels earned two Coastal Collegiate Sports Association victories to improve to 5-1 in league duals, improving their overall record to 8-3.
The Camels bookended the meet by winning both relays, going 1-2 in the 200 medley relay to kick the day off before another 1-2 finish in the 400 free relay to finish the day. Megan Everritt, Taylor McMinn, Maddie Baiotto and Sarah Wilson won the 200 medley with a time of 1:47.60, while Annie Sanchez, Neringa Cerniauskaite, Hannah Kendall and Sarah Wilson combined to win the 400 free relay in 3:32.94.
In the freestyle events, Sanchez won the 200 (1:52.49) and the 100 (52.49), while Wilson placed first in the 50 (24.38). Wilson also finished second in the 100 free (52.80) just before Kendall who took third place with a time of 53.19.
McMinn almost joined Sanchez with multiple individual victories; she won the 100 breast in 1:06.91 before finishing just 0.09 seconds behind ODU's Emilie Petit in the 200 breast by swimming a 2:22.83.
Campbell also went 1-2 in the both the 100 and 200 fly events. In the 200 fly, Scott delivered a win (2:06.01), finishing right before Baiotto (2:07.44), while in the 100 fly, Baiotto won (57.13) and Scott placed second (57.51).
The Camels will wrap up their home schedule next weekend by hosting North Florida for Senior Day. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
