BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After splitting its first two Big South Conference games at home, Campbell begins a stretch of four road contests in the next five dates Wednesday at UNC Asheville.
The Camels (8-8, 1-1) opened with a 72-61 comeback win over Gardner-Webb Jan. 5 before falling last Thursday in a 90-86 shootout with Winthrop.
Chris Clemons scored 34 points and dealt a season-high 6 assists, while
Andrew Eudy contributed a career-best 25 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists against the Eagles.
The nation's youngest team, according to the NCAA, UNC Asheville (2-15, 0-3) has dropped its last five outings, including an 83-61 setback Saturday at Hampton. The Bulldogs' top 3 scorers are all freshmen - DeVon Baker (16.2), Coty Jude (10.4) and Tajion Jones (9.7).
- In Big South Conference games, Campbell is shooting 90.6% (29-32) from the free throw line - best in the league - after last week's 19-of-19 effort vs. Winthrop.
- With only 13 turnovers against Big South competition, the Camels own a plus-5.5 turnover margin against league foes.
- Chris Clemons now stands 22nd on the NCAA Division I all-time scoring list with 2,706 points in 113 career outings. He leads the nation in scoring (29.6 ppg) and has extended his double-figure scoring streak to 98 games, the longest among all active players and 4th-best in D1 history.
- A Jan. 24 date with Presbyterian is CU's lone remaining home contest this month. CU plays Saturday at Charleston Southern with upcoming trips to Hampton (Jan. 26) and Radford (Jan. 30).
- Saturday's game is the 46th all-time between Campbell and UNC Asheville, dating to the 1967-68 season when both were members of the NAIA. CU won 5 of the 8 meetings between the schools while the Camels were members of the Atlantic Sun Conference (1994-2011), but the Bulldogs have claimed 12 of 13 since Campbell re-joined the Big South in 2011-12.
- KenPom lists UNC Asheville as the least experienced team in the country and through current NCAA research the Bulldogs are the youngest team in the country.

Chris Clemons scored a conference record 51 points as the seventh-seeded Camels shot 55.8 percent from the floor and made 11-of-21 threes. Clemons scored 23 of Campbell's first 25 points.
