CLINTON, S.C. - Alexa Genas netted two goals and assisted on another as Campbell topped Presbyterian 4-0 to remain in second in the Big South standings Wednesday night.
Alexa Genas opened the scoring line in the 47
th minute by scoring her 10
th goal of the season. Campbell played the ball into the box on a corner kick which was headed out by the Blue Hose but
Emma Bushee headed the ball back into the head of Genas who scored the 42
nd goal of her career.
Later in the 84
th minute, she netted her second goal of the night when she dribbled through traffic hesitated and worked past two more in the box before striking the shot to the top right corner for the score.
She now sits tied for sixth all-time on the Big South career goals lists alongside Liberty's Nancy Davis (1998-01) after passing Coastal Carolina's Blair Monroe (20005-28). She is just three goals shy of tying Ashley Clark for second on Campbell's all-time scoring list.
Rosie O'Neal followed just minutes later in the 54
th minute when
Katie Lockwood took the breakaway down the far side and played a beautiful ball into O'Neal who pushed it pass the diving keeper.
Liston netted the Camels third goal of the night when Campbell played the ball past the defender and Genas saved the ball near the end line back to Liston who buried her second goal of the season in the 82
nd minute.
Reaghan Duval picked up her seventh win of the season and her fourth solo shutout by going the full 90 minutes where she tallied four saves on the night.
Campbell closes out the regular season Saturday at home against Hampton as a part of senior day at 7:00 p.m.
