BUIES CREEK, N.C. — Campbell University swimming posted top times in nine of 10 events on Friday night against UNC Pembroke, earning a 98-74 victory over the Division II Braves.
Campbell opened the meet by posting the two fastest times in the 200-medley relay. The team of Kamaria Mahone, Brenna Divoky, Mary Grace Greco and Neringa Cerniauskaite swam a 1:52.92, finishing just before Drew Marshall, Caitlyn Edwards, Heidi Curtis and Zoe Malphurs, who posted a time of 1:55.52.
Four different Camels posted top times in the four individual freestyle events as Edwards won the 50 free in 26.29, Colleen Renshaw won the 200 free in 1:59.08, Erica Losey took first in the 100 free (54.86), and Lauren Shoemaker claimed the 500 free in 5:22.25.
In the 200 individual medley, Marshall swam a 2:14.80 while Elizabeth Sparacino posted a time of 2:19.26. Julia Sherlock finished the 100 fly in 58.64, while Greco took the 100 back in 59.59.
Cerniauskaite posted Campbell's top time in the 100 breast, placing second with a mark of 1:11.44. In the 200-free relay, the team comprised of Losey, Cerniauskaite, Malphurs and Mahone collectively finished in 1:43.29.
Campbell returns to the Johnson Aquatic Center Saturday, Oct. 26, to host two Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) foes – Gardner-Webb and Old Dominion – at noon. The Camels will wear pink caps in support of breast cancer research in Saturday's tri-meet.
