After posting a second-straight top-five finis,
Stacey White of Campbell University was named Big South Conference women's golfer of the week.
Â
White tied for third individually and Campbell finished third in the final team standings after Sunday's final round of the Cardinal Cup at the University of Louisville Golf Club. Only host and 42nd-ranked Louisville (297-291-280—868) and No.-20 Kentucky (296-288-292—876) finished ahead of the Camels (292-296-289—877), who produced the second-best team score in Sunday's round. Washington (295-295-292—882) finished fourth and Kansas fifth (306-288-292—886) in the 17-team event.Â
Â
A senior from Brisbane, Australia, White posted her sixth-straight round of par, or better, golf Sunday and finished at 3-under 213 (70-72-71) on the par-72, 6216-yard U of L layout. She tied for third in the field with 12 birdies and in par-4 scoring (-3), while tying for 7th on the par-5 holes (-2). The performance marked White's second-straight top-5 individual finish after a runner-up showing earlier this month at the Princess Anne Invitational.
She lowered her stroke average to 71.17, the 38th-best mark in the country.
