LYNCHBURG, Va. — Three Fighting Camels – Maddie Baiotto (100 fly), Annie Sanchez (200 free) and Colleen Renshaw (200 free) – earned top-10 finishes in the finals of day two at the TYR '85 Invite on Saturday inside the Liberty Natatorium.
Baiotto posted a time of 55.07 in the 100 fly finals to earn a seventh-place finish, while Sanchez and Renshaw finished eighth and ninth in the A-finals of the 200 free, swimming times of 1:57.32 and 2:00.11, respectively.
Campbell had two swimmers earn top-20 finishes in the 400 IM, with Maggie Whitman taking 13th place in 4:34.60 before Mary Grace Greco's 18th-place finish in 4:41.15.
In the 100 breast finals, Angelica Brown turned in a time of 1:07.29, good for 26th place, seven spots ahead of Brenna Divoky's 33rd placement in 1:07.67.
Megan Everritt swam a 56.74 in the 100 back finals, taking 12th place, just four places ahead of Julia Sherlock, who took 16th place in 57.38.
Campbell's 800-free relay squad of Sanchez, Renshaw, Erica Losey and Sarah Wilson, collectively swam a time of 7:31.75, finishing in fourth among 20 teams. Two of Campbell's 200-medley relay teams finished in 14th and 15th, with the B-squad (Kamaria Mahone, Divoky, Sherlock and Maddie Heggie) swimming a 1:46.97 before the A-squad's (Everritt, Brown, Skyler DeWall and Baiotto) time of 1:47.46.
Following the second day of the nine-team meet, the Camels remain in seventh place with 596 points, beating out North Florida's 478.50 and St. Francis' 413. Navy leads with 1,496.50 points, followed by Duquesne (1,125) and Vandebilt (990.50).
The TYR '85 Invite concludes on Sunday with the prelimary heats scheduled at 10 a.m. before the finals competition at 6 p.m.
