MATTHEWS, N.C. - Nelia Perez netted the golden goal in the double overtime 3-2 over Campbell to move on to the Big South Conference Championship Thursday night at the Matthews Sportsplex.
Perez gathered the loose ball in traffic and finished through traffic reach the title game for the second straight year.
Jessica Donald opened the scoring line in the 44
th minute when
Emma Bushee played the ball in from the near side to Donald who gathered it while lying on the ground where she pushed it past the keeper for the go-ahead goal.
Alexa Genas followed in the 54
th minute when she netted the 46
th goal of her career. The mark moved her into a tied of second place for career goals in both program history and to fourth place in Big South history alongside Ashley Clark.
Jessica Donald threw the ball in from the near side where Genas allowed one bounce before collecting and finishing to put the Camels up 2-0.
Radford narrowed the margin in the 62
nd minute on a goal from Alexeis Kirnos. Lily McLane crossed the ball in and deflected the ball off Duval where Kirnos found it for the score.
Kayla Thomas netted the equalizer in the 82
nd minute on an assists from McLane to force the overtime period.
In the 91
st minute
Alexa Genas dribbled the ball to her right and fired a shot on goal but the Radford keeper came up with a diving save to extend the match.
Campbell closes out the season with a 13-4-2 mark including an 8-1-1 mark in Big South play.
