Campbell falls to UNCW 4-3

Box Score WILMINGTON, N.C.- The Campbell Women's Tennis team fell to UNC Wilmington 4-3 today in Wilmington, N.C.

The Seahawks took the doubles point to start the match. UNCW's Sabina Barisano and doubles partner Maddy Muller-Hughes beat CU's Lea Cutura and Alexandra Nicoara with a 6-0 win to claim the first doubles win. Campbell snagged a doubles win of their own when doubles partners Isabel Boada and Lou Regen paired to beat UNCW's Celeste Matute and Sarah Horn 6-3. Wilmington claimed the last doubles win to clinch the point when Seahawks doubles pair Lea Dubois-Rebiere and Rachel Marthinsen beat Campbell's Ana Castillo and Inma Ramon with a 6-3 win at No. 3.

Campbell and UNCW split the singles wins 3-3. Wilmington's Barisano kicked off singles action with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 against Campbell's Cutura. UNCW continued their singles streak with a 7-5, 6-1 singles win from Dubois-Rebiere who beat Campbell's Nicoara. The Seahawks clinched the match when Muller-Hughes beat CU's Castillo with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 3.

Campbell claimed three singles wins thanks to Lucile Pons, Pauline Roustan and Lou Regen. Pons defeated UNCW's Matute 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. Following, teammate Roustan beat Marthinsen with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 win in singles action, and Regen ended the match with CU's last singles win to beat UNCW's Rishika Ravindran 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.
