CONWAY, S.C. – Haley Alexander and Samantha Courtemanche combined for 12 points to lead Coastal Carolina over visiting Campbell 16-4 Wednesday afternoon at Brooks Stadium.
Coastal moves to 2-1 on the season, while CU drops to 0-3 following its road opener.
Alexander and Courtemanche both scored four times and assisted on two more Chanticleer goals. The two combined for CCU's first two goals on the day, while Alexander notched three scores with an assist in the second half. Alexander added two caused turnovers and a ground ball in the win.
Madeline Bromley also scored three times with a ground ball for CCU, while Megan Busch and Haley Kyger tacked on two goals each.
Harley Barrett netted eight saves, allowing three goals for the win.
Melissa Placek and
Mackenzie Kolesar paced Campbell with two goals apiece. Placek added seven draw controls, while Kolesar picked up a ground ball for the Camels.
Annie Pazulski dished out two assists for her second straight multi-point outing.
Allison Waldhauser and
Amanda Chasin both added two ground balls and caused a turnover.
Lexie Patton also made six saves.
The Chanticleers outshot CU 26-18 on the day, limiting Campbell to 4-of-10 clears.
The Camels return home Saturday, hosting Wofford at 1 p.m. at Barker-Lane Stadium.
