Lacrosse hosts Wofford Saturday

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell returns to Barker-Lane Stadium, hosting Wofford Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Camels (0-3) are coming off their 2019 road debut, falling at former Big South rival Coastal Carolina on Wednesday.

Melissa Placek and Mackenzie Kolesar paced Campbell with two goals apiece. Placek added seven draw controls, while Kolesar picked up a ground ball for the Camels. Annie Pazulski dished out two assists for her second straight multi-point outing.

Allison Waldhauser and Amanda Chasin both added two ground balls and caused a turnover. Lexie Patton also made six saves.

The Chanticleers outshot CU 26-18 on the day, limiting Campbell to 4-of-10 clears.

Pazulski paces the Camels on the season with six points on two goals and four assists. The senior owns five of her six points over the last two games, posting a goal and two assists against Richmond last week. Placek and Kolesar have registered three goals each for the Camels.

On the defensive end, Chasin has collected seven ground balls with three caused turnovers, while Kennedy Boyle owns four ground balls and has caused four turnovers. In the cage, Lexie Patton has gathered 31 saves, leading the Big South in saves per game at 10.33.

Wofford is 1-0 on the season, topping Presbyterian in its season opener 14-13 last weekend in Clinton, S.C.

Ally Furnari netted four goals in the win over the Blue Hose, while JoJo Franklin dished out three assists with a goal. Kelsey Thompson notched five ground balls with a caused turnover and seven saves, and Elisabeth Ralph recorded three ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Saturday will mark the first meeting between Campbell and Wofford.

Next up, Campbell will travel to Mercer on Sunday, March 3, beginning a four game road trip. The Camels come back to Buies Creek on March 23, hosting Mount St. Mary's.
