BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Mae McGlynn and Bella Feldman scored four goals apiece to lead visiting Elon over Campbell 15-5 Saturday at Barker-Lane Stadium in the 2019 season opener for both teams.

Elon (1-0) took a 9-3 lead into halftime, paced by three first half scores from McGlynn, outshooting the Camels (0-1) 19-9 in the frame.

The Phoenix went up 3-0 with 23:12 on the clock, sparked by two goals from Kaley Thompson and another from Feldman before Sarah Paul put the Camels (0-1) on the board. Annie Pazulski's unassisted score cut the Elon lead to 3-2 before six-straight goals by the Phoenix.

Mackenzie Kolesar's strike with 4:59 to go in the opening half ended the Elon run, but three more Phoenix goals to open the second stanza pushed the lead to 12-3, outscoring CU 6-2 in the second.

McGlynn and Feldman combined for five of Elon's six free position goals, with the Phoenix converting six of their 13 free position shots.

Paulina Difatta posted 10 saves for the Phoenix.

Ellie Allen and Jennifer Anuszewski added second half goals for the Camels, while Amanda Chasin tacked on two ground balls. Melissa Placek and Sam Carey also controlled four draws apiece for CU, while Lexie Patton recorded five saves in goal.

The Camels will remain at home for their next matchup, hosting Richmond on February 16 at noon. Campbell will head to Coastal Carolina on February 20 for its road debut.
