CLEVELAND, Ohio — Campbell senior Madison Scott broke her own personal school record in the 200 fly by swimming a 1:59.80 in the finals of the CSCAA National Invitational Championships on Saturday.
Scott placed 11th in the finals, Campbell's highest final ranking of the event. She best her previous mark of 2:00.23, which she set at the CCSA Championships in February.
Maddie Baiotto took 11th with a 2:02.52 clocking in the 200 fly finals. She and Scott advanced to the finals with preliminary times of 2:03.42 and 2:01.10, respectively. The duo combined to earn Campbell 17 points.
Campbell's 400-free relay team – Annie Sanchez, Neringa Cerniauskaite, Hannah Kendall and Sarah Wilson – took 19th in the event with a mark of 3:26.45. The placement earned CU 4 team score points.
Campbell finished tied for 26th in the team rankings with 80 points.
Senior Taylor McMinn swam her final 200 breast as a Fighting Camel, finishing 31st in the prelims with a time of 2:21.04. Annie Sanchez was Campbell's top finisher in the 100 free prelims, swimming a 51.33 for 29th place, while Julia Sherlock claimed top placement in the 200 back with a 33rd-place finish in 2:04.76.
This marks the end of the 2018-19 season for the Fighting Camels.
