No. 25 High Point defeats Campbell

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Rachel Foster scored seven times and No. 25 High Point defeated visiting Campbell 21-7 Wednesday in Big South lacrosse action at Vert Stadium.

HPU improves to 10-4 overall with its sixth straight win, remaining perfect in Big South play at 4-0, while Campbell dips to 4-9 on the season and 1-2 in conference games.

Foster added two assists and a pair of ground balls for the Panthers, while Mena Loescher netted five goals. Abby Hormes also notched five points with three goals and two assists, tacking on seven draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls in the win.

Samantha Herman, meanwhile, scored twice, while Allie Little dished out three assists with a goal and Meredith Chapman caused three turnovers and picked up three ground balls. Sarah Zeto grabbed 15 saves.

The Panthers owned a 40-28 advantage in shots, including an 18-10 difference in the second half, outscoring CU 10-2 in the frame.

Annie Pazulski paced Campbell with four points on two goals and two assists. Melissa Placek also scored twice, adding an assist and five draw controls, while Sam Carey notched two goals with three draw controls and three ground balls.

Rose Prizzi picked up four ground balls with a caused turnover, and Julia Markey forced two HPU turnovers with a ground ball. In net for the Camels, Lexie Patton made eight saves, while Alex Salim hauled in four saves.

The Camels will return home on April 13, hosting Gardner-Webb in their home finale. CU will be on the road for the final week of the regular season, traveling to Longwood (April 17) and Radford (April 20) before heading into the Big South Championship (April 26-28).
