BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Megan Mozingo was only retired once and drove in two runs but the Camels fell to USC Upstate in the series cap 8-4 Sunday afternoon.
Megan Mozingo went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple to plate two runs while crossing the plate once herself.
Cassie Wancheck (1-for-3) extended her on-base streak to 15 straight games with a single to left field in the fourth.
Christina Biggerstaff (19-3) picked up the win by going the distance but she allowed the most hits and the second most earned runs against this season by surrendering four earned runs across eight hits.
Haley Hutchins (7-12) suffered the loss by going just 3.1 innings where she allowed eight runs – seven earned – over eight hits.
Megan Richards came on in relief for the Camels (18-23, 9-9 Big South) and allowed just one hit and no runs over the final 3.2 innings.
Alyssa Oakes (2-for-4, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 2 run) blasted a two run home run in the first inning to give the Spartans (31-10, 11-4 BSC) an early 2-0 lead.
Campbell responded with a sole run in the second when Mozingo doubled to left center to score

Upstate pushed its lead back to two runs in the third when Megan Obier lined an RBI single to right field which scored Makenna Helton from second who earlier singled and stole second.

Claudia Ware pushed a bunt single passed the picture which allowed
Bri Bryant to come into score from second.
The Spartans posted a five spot in the top of the fourth however including a grand slam from Oakes which proved to be the difference.
Megan Mozingo drove in her second run of the day in the bottom half with a triple to right center which scored the runner from first and was followed by an RBI sac bunt which scored Mozingo from third.
Campbell returns to action on Thursday with a trip to Charlotte to take on the 49ers at 5:00 p.m.
