Camels suffer five-set loss to Nicholls State

MACON, Ga. — Despite winning the first two sets, Campbell volleyball suffered a 3-2 loss (25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 25-27, 12-15) to Nicholls State on Friday afternoon of the Mercer Bears Classic inside Hawkins Arena.

Both Sarah Colla (19) and Lailah Green (13) registered double-digit kills; Colla's total was a match-high. Ananda Patterson recorded nine kills, while both Alysha Mitchell and Hailey Wilson put down eight kills.

The Camels were led defensively by Elyse Gross, Allena Heath and Grace Kane, who accounted for 36 of Campbell's 63 digs. Gross collected 15 digs, followed by Heath with 12 and Kane with nine.

Led by Jackie Alanis' 17 kills, four Colonials recorded double-digit kills, helping Nicholls State earn its second win of the season.

Up next, the Fighting Camels will face Mercer tomorrow at 1 p.m. on the last day of the Mercer Bears Classic.
