HIGH POINT, N.C. - Carsyn Gold netted the lone goal of the match as High Point downed Campbell 1-0 Wednesday night at Vert Stadium.
Gold gathered the loose ball in the box off the cross and shot through traffic to net the only, and decisive goal of the contest in the 20
th minute.
Campbell (5-3-1) edged the Panthers (2-6-1) in corner kicks five to two and the two squads both placed four shots on frame.
In the 74
th minute,
Zona Kinnaman took a shot off the free kick from outside the 18 to force the save which forced the ball to sky into the air but the clearance ended the Campbell threat.
Talia Klimes picked up the win by posting a blank sheet which featured four saves while
Reaghan Duval suffered the loss in which she allowed one goal along side three saves.
Campbell returns to action on Sataurday at Winthrop for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff in Rock Hill, S.C.
