Camels cruise to 9-2 win over Mount St. Mary's

Tipler, M. Parker record multi-hit, multi-RBI games; D. Parker homers in win

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Mackenzie Parker and Kynadi Tipler posted multi-hit and RBI games, and Diana Parker hit her second home run of the season as Campbell earned a 9-2 win over Mount St. Mary's on the second day of the Campbell Invitational at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.

Campbell moves to 4-5 on the season after picking up its third win of the season while the Mountaineers drop to 0-2.

The Camels built a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first starting with Morgan Rios recording a RBI after drawing a bases-loaded walk. Mackenzie Parker doubled in the next at bat, clearing the bases and scoring three runs while Diana Parker homered after that to bring in five more runs.

Shorty Ware added another run, scoring the speedy Destini England from first base, on a double to left field. 

The Mountaineers scored their only runs of the game in the sixth on a RBI-double to right center from Maggie Kane and a Kaia Bonshock hit through the left side. Mount St. Mary's put runners in scoring position at second and third with two outs, but Campbell pitcher Megan Richards struck out the final batter to end the inning. 

Campbell pushed the score margin back to seven runs as Tipler connected for her third hit of the day on a double to center field, scoring the final two runs of the evening.

Mariah Godde went 2-for-3 for the Mountaineers while Kane ended her day with one hit, run and RBI.

Richards picked up the win for Campbell after pitching three innings with three strikeouts. Kayla Howald started the game in the circle for the Camels, ending her night by giving up only one hit and striking out three in four innings of work.

Mount St. Mary's starter Jordan Weaver took the loss as she tossed the first four innings, allowing six earned runs on seven hits.
