KERNERSVILLE, N.C. - Dorcus Ewoi and Lesego Mpshe finished in the top five of the women's 5K to highlight Campbell at the VertCross Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Ewoi finished second with a time of 17:31.5, marking the fourth-fastest finish in program history for a 5k course. Mpshe finished fifth with a time of 17:59.7. Madelyn Rodriguez (28th, 19:04.6) finished within the top-30 as the CU women placed sixth out of 11 teams.
Unattached High Point runner Hannah Brookover finished just ahead of Ewoi in first behind a time of 17:30.4. Appalachian State finished with the top team score followed by Radford, High Point and Charleston Southern.
The Campbell men had three runners finish out the 8k course led by Rievan Lombard with a time of 26:52.4 in 29th.
Duke finished first in the men's team standings followed by High Point and Appalachian State.
Campbell returns to Kernersville in two weeks for the Big South Championships, hosted by High Point on Fri., Oct. 29.
