LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Campbell University men's and women's cross country teams each finished eighth at the CAA Championships on Friday morning, Oct. 31, at Ocean County Park.

The women's squad totaled 219 points in the 6K race, while the men's team recorded 257 points in the 8K. Both programs saw multiple personal bests and several times that ranked among the top performances in program history.

WOMEN'S RECAP

Junior Emily Pierce led the way for the Camels with a personal-best time of 21:49.8, placing 24th overall and recording the sixth-fastest 6K time in program history.

Freshman Delaney Horton followed in 44th with a time of 22:18.0, marking her collegiate 6K debut and ranking 13th all-time in school history. Junior Emelyn Lacour rounded out Campbell's top three with a personal-best 22:23.7, placing 49th and moving to 14th all-time. In total, five of Campbell's seven runners recorded personal bests in the race.

MEN'S RECAP

On the men's side, freshman Isaiah Martine continued his standout first season, pacing the Camels with a personal-best 24:57.8 to finish 32nd overall, the 11th-fastest 8K time in program history.
Junior Andrew Barrett was the next Camel across the line, finishing 56th in 25:33.7, followed by Mario Cantarero in 72nd with a time of 26:08.6.
