BUIES CREEK, N.C. – For the second time this season, Campbell has swept the weekly Big South Conference men's golf awards.
Henrik Lilja was named golfer of the week, while
Henric Bjelke was chosen as freshman of the week.
Lilja (70-71-72—213) posted his third-straight top-10 (T9) outing in the fall 2021 season at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate and was one of 21 golfers in the 89-player field to finish in red numbers on the par-72, 7358-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh. A senior from Gothenburg, Sweden, Lilja tied for the individual lead on the par-3 holes (-3) and played the par fives at 3-under. He has played par, or better, golf in eight of nine rounds this fall and is ranked No. 93 nationally in the Golfstat Cup.
A native of Oslo, Norway, Bjelke collected his 3rd-straight T25 finish at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate (73-74-70—217). He has played par, or better, golf in 5 of 9 rounds this season, and posted a 71.44 stroke average, second-best on the team and seventh in the Big South Conference.
Lilja was also named Big South golfer of the week Sept. 16, while Bjelke previously was selected as freshman of the week on Sept. 16 and Oct. 14.
Campbell continues its fall schedule Oct. 31-Nov. 1 with the Daniel Island Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole GC in Raleigh.
